This picture of the boys was taken almost exactly a year ago. It is amazing how fast a year has gone by. At this time last year we were living in a town house in Mississauga Canada. (Near Toronto.) It was a great experience and a lot of fun.

Last week Kamden and Karson were both sick with colds. Wednesday Justin traveled on a business trip to Oklahoma. Before he left we all went to lunch at Red Robin. I love that place, its delicious and I am glad that they have one in town now. Wednesday night Karson had a rough night so Thursday morning I took him into the Dr. He had a ear infection in both ears and the cold had moved into his chest a possible sign of the early stages of pneumonia. They decided to give him a boost of antibiotics with a shot, and then also an oral prescription. I felt so bad when they gave him the shots. They had to do one in each leg and the Dr had told me it was a pretty painful shot. As they were giving him the shots Kamden put his hat on and his hands cupped over his ears. He told me he didn't like to hear Karson cry. It makes him sad. What a sweetie.

We then headed off to Walmart to get the oral prescription. My doctor actually does a pretty cool thing and emails the prescription to the pharmacy, so it will be ready to pick up when you get there. Or SHOULD be ready when you get there. To make a long story short I ended up waiting for the prescription for 45min. I waited with a very curious three year old and a very sick and cranky baby. When I finally asked the pharmacy what the wait was she asked what name I had been waiting for. When I told her the Pharmacist overheard and said "Oh we filled that prescription over an hour ago. " WHAT!!! Looks like I had been waiting for 45 min because the lady standing at the pick-up line didn't realize that Karson was spelled with a K. (Don't they file by last name anyways?) All I have to say is GOOD GRACIOUS!!! I was so happy to finally get out of there with a prescription in hand.

Note to self: FIND A DIFFERENT PHARMACY!!

Well Karson is doing much better, and back to his normal happy self. Kamden now has came down with the cough and runny nose. It seems inevitable that when one kid gets it they will always pass it to the other. Justin is back home safe and sound and I am actually getting some sleep again. We had a nice weekend together.

Karson has been doing this really funny thing lately. He walks up to the toilet and pulls up his shirt and pretends hes going to the bathroom. A couple times he has walked up to the toilet opened it and tried taking off his pants. Who knows maybe we will get him potty trained early.

February Already.

The past two weeks were spent doing some much needed relaxing and playing. It looks as though I finally got rid of my case of the January blues and just in time! February snuck right up on me.

This is just some of the fun things we've been doing.

A couple Saturdays ago we got a fresh coat of snow. We couldn't resist it and decided to all go outside and build a snowman. Everyone helped out and the snowman ended up being taller then me. We used our creativity and found many things in the garage to dress him up with. Fishing polls for the arms, a windsock for the scarf, wood chips for the buttons eyes and mouth, and a small sled for the hat. He looks pretty great out there and is still standing tall. Kamden this year has really been enjoying going outside and playing in the snow. One day he dressed himself in all his snow clothes and started heading out. After I gave him the okay he headed out to the backyard. He would have stayed out there all day but I finally had to make him come back inside for fear of all his limbs falling off from frost bite.

One night we all gathered around and watched the movie Tinker Bell. Yes I know me and my three boys watched a complete girly movie. It was actually very cute and a good movie. So my advice is, boys or not watch the movie Tinker Bell.

This past weekend we went with my family up to Island Park for a relaxing weekend. We played a lot of games, watched more movies, and went snowmobiling. It has been awhile since I last got on a snow machine and let me tell you I had sooooo much fun!!! It is great. Justin took us on some awesome trails. Kamden had a ton of fun riding with Justin. Now all he talks about is the snowmobiles. It was a great weekend.

Sometimes Kamden is hard to understand. So a couple of weeks ago I took him in to the school district for an evaluation. Kamden had so much fun being in the school and was wide eyes checking everything out.(When you take your child in they evaluate everything from development to speech.) Of course they told me that he was developing just fine but they referred me to a speech therapist to check on his articulation of words. (Pronunciation.) Kamden was so excited to get to go back to the school, we went and saw the speech therapist and she was so nice. Yesterday they called me and told me that he was not eligible for the free school speech program because he seemed fine. It was nice to have their opinion and now I feel like I can worry a little less about it all.

For the past couple of days Karson has had a terrible cold. He is having a really hard time sleeping due to his nasty cough. I really hate this time of year for that reason. It seems like we can never make it through the season without someone catching something. Those darn cold they last forever!

One of my goals for the new year is being more involved in my childrens day to day life. It seems that sometimes I get so busy doing laundry, cleaning, and doing things that I want that I forget to sit down and play with them. Well I must pat myself on the back because these last two weeks we have been busy painting, reading, playing with trains and cars, singing, dancing, and just having a wonderful time. I realized that by taking the time to play and involve my kids I became much more patient with them. Karson has even learned how to catch. It has really been a lot of fun and I feel like I am getting to know my two little rugrats so much better.
Just don't look at my laundry/kitchen/bedroom/bathrooms. SCARY!!!

I will end this lovely post with a funny story.
Whenever Kamden gets hurt he runs to me and has me kiss his ouchy better. As soon as I kiss it better he runs off and is perfectly fine. Who knew that a kiss would be the best medicine ever. One night we had some friends over for dinner. Kamden was playing around and fell right on his tushy. He came running to me, pulled down his britchs and wanted me to kiss his rear end better. Guess that gives a whole new meaning to the phrase kiss butt. :)

Oh and sorry about the lack of pictures. Somebody lost, I mean missplaced the memory stick to their camera. Oooops. Guess I better take some time looking for it instead of all this relaxing and playing!

Relaxation.

It has been a very nice week of relaxation. I have only ventured out to Sams club and the pet store. Other then that I have been locked up tight in my house. We have been doing a lot of playing and movie watching, and RELAXING!! I think this is the first week in seven months that we have stayed home this much. Its a much needed break!

I just wanted to take the time to share some funny pictures of the boys. They sure keep me busy as you can tell. Some of these are older but I thought they were still pretty funny.

Kamden found an old diaper box and some rope downstairs. So he tied the rope to the box and around himself. (My three year old ties amazing knots!) Then he lifted Karson into the box. At first Karson thought it seemed kind of fun, but then when Kamden took off running with Karson being pulled behind he decided it wasn't so fun.

I asked Kamden one morning to hurry and get dressed so we could head off to the store. Anyone who has kids knows how long it can take to get kids ready!! When Kamden came out this is what he had on. Notice his nice pose.

One morning I was trying to get some cleaning done so like any good mother would do I turned on the T.V and sat the boys in front of it. When I came back to my room I found Karson watching cartoons, and my bed a mess. Kamden had decided they needed snacks and had gotten marsh mellows and oreos out for them. Needless to say my sheets needed a good washing after that.

Partners in crime. Look where I found them hiding. Under Karsons crib.

As you can see we have lots of fun around here. Well at least they do. :) Speaking of fun. Last night we got a fresh six inches of snow. Although I hate the cold and driving in the snow, I love playing in it. The boys and I are off to get all bundled up for some fun in the snow!

A very long week.

This past week we have been busy with funeral preparations and plans. The funeral was held on Saturday January 17th. It was a nice tribute to my Grandfather. He was a veteran so he was able to have a military funeral. It was quite amazing!

It was a very long week and I am ready for a nice break in things. It seems like the last six months have been nothing but a whirlwind for us. This week I am going to take a much needed break from everything and do absolutely nothing!!!

George W. Colgrove

Late Saturday night my Grandpa George Colgrove passed away. I was able to be present when it happened. It was a very emotional yet spiritual event. He was 91 years old, almost 92, his birthday being this Thursday. He will be greatly missed.

He was a very kind, loving man with a huge sense of humor. A big tease. I have some great memories of him. My kids adored him, they called him Pa George. They loved going back to his room and playing with his cane, and rummaging through his odds and ends. Pa George always had a treat for them. Kamden learned this very fast and would always go back to grandpa room as soon as we got to my parents house. Pa George was always playing little pranks. When we were younger he would always stick out his tongue under his bottom dentures and wiggle it around. Back then we had no idea what dentures were and we were in awww and amused by his trick. One day my dad asked him "Dad how is your car running these days" without skipping a beat my grandpa replied "On gas!" Even up till the end his humor never faltered. He had been living with my parents for the last three years. It was nice to have him so close. I feel blessed to have him as such an important part of our lives. We will miss him dearly but are very glad he was able to return home.

Goodbye Pa George.

Closing Time!

So our house in Michigan is finally SOLD. Today we closed on it. It is a very bitter sweet thing. Bitter because we are loosing so much money, but sweet because now I don't have to worry about it any more. I am just excited to be done with it. No more finding someone to mow the lawn or shovel the walks. No more paying taxes on a house we don't even live in, no more sink holes in the back yard. Yay!

Of course when we were living in the house we built some wonderful memories! Such as it being our first house! Raising two boys there. Kamden was two weeks old when we moved in, and Karson was brought home from the hospital there. We laughed a lot, cried a lot, and grew a lot. Life as we knew it for three years revolved in that house. So in memory of our good ole house here are some pics. Goodbye 22800 Arlington St.

Happy New Year.

Wow what a whirlwind the last month has been. Things are starting to finally settle back down. Which means I need to catch up.

New Years Eve we had a nice dinner at my parents played some games then headed to my sister and brother in laws house to watch them set off fireworks. Kamden really enjoyed them and Karson was more interested in the toys. Justin and I came back to our house to put the boys to bed then my parents, little bro Eli, and his friend came up to play more games. We rang in the New Year and watched the ball drop on T.V. I kissed Justin and then we all headed off to bed.

New Years day was Grandma Johnsons birthday. We hosted a family party for her at our house this year. It was so much fun!!! Everyone was able to make it. We ate dinner and watched football, chit chatted, and even learned a new game. The kids played great together. It was one full house, but I loved every second of it! I think that Grandma had a great birthday!

Friday night we had some friends from Michigan who were in the area stop by. It was so good to see the Jorgensen family again! The kids got to see each other and that was pretty fun. Thanks for stopping by Jorgensen family!! That night my brothers watched the boys and we went up to Justins uncles house and played games till midnight with the Johnson family. We always have so much fun when we get together.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
