Birthday fun.

We had a fun Birthday Party for Justin. Pizza, hot wings, cake, ice cream and family. The boys and I got Justin a new BQ grill. Justin loves it and has already broke it in.

I love this picture of my mom and dad wrestling with all the kids.

And of course what would a party be without a little dog pile on the birthday boy!

And last but not least a picture of Karson when I tell him to smile for the camera.

You should of prayed a little harder you praying mantis.

Kam came into my room this afternoon with his bucket in hand. "Ma I have a surprise for you" he said. I got a little nervous of what the surprise might be. Sand and water, grass, dog droppings. Then he tipped the bucket and there it was. A smashed dead praying mantis. Kam was delighted in his new find. This is the conversation that followed.

Me: Oh kam you didn't have to kill the praying mantis. They are nice.
Kam: No ma they are not nice they are bad.
Me: Okay Kam go put it back outside.

Kam starts heading for the door but then instead turns to the kitchen.

Ma: Kam take it outside. ( The thing was pretty gross!)
Kam: No Ma I have to cook it.
Ma: No Kam we don't eat praying mantis.
Kam: Yes we do all we have to do is boil it.

Praying Mantis for dinner anyone?

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to the love of my life. Not only is he incredibly handsome, but I dare to say he is the most wonderful, amazing man ever. Justin has so many wonderful qualities and I could really go on and on about him, but instead I am just going to say how incredibly lucky I am to have him by my side.

I love you Justin and I hope that you have a wonderful Birthday!

Road Trip!

Oh how I love a good road trip. We packed up our bags and headed out Thursday morning Aug 6th. Spokane Washington here we come! Thank heavens for toys, DVD players, and of course lots of snacks. Seven hours later we arrived, everyone still alive. The boys actually did great on the drive. Spent the weekend visiting with friends from college. Even got to attend one of my best friends baby showers. We had a great time hanging out and being able to see everyone! It went by too fast though and soon we were saying goodbye. By the time the weekend was over the boys were exhausted and ended up sleeping almost the entire way home. They sleep so terrible when we are away from home. Which also equals one very tired mommy and daddy. We were happy to see our bed that night, but miss our friends already!!

Brandi, Veronica, and I. We have so much fun together!

Moscow gals!

On the way home we had to stop for a little ice cream!!

Thank heavens for swing sets!

Thank heavens for swingsets and fenced in yards. These two things have allowed me many hours of relaxation this summer. The boys love being outside, and now they have so much to do they play all day long. Thanks Justin for your many hours of work putting the swingset together. Thanks to all the grandparents who pitched in money for the boys birthday towards the swingset. The boys have been having so much fun!

Playing catch up.

I absolutely love the summer. It is my favorite time of year and this year has been no exception. We have had a very fun filled, eventful summer. I have been completely ignoring my blog and have just been enjoying life. Unfortunately I now have a lot of catching up to do.

Lets turn back the pages of time to July. Oh boy did that month just fly right by. We started out the month celebrating the forth of July in Island Park. As I have mentioned several times I just love going to I.P but the fourth of July is my absolute favorite time to be there. While there we did lots of boating, eating, tubing, relaxing, and 4-wheeling. We watched a parade of people on 4-wheelers that they had decorated, and that night enjoyed watching fireworks from the boat. My favorite part of the fourth of July up there. We had a great and wonderful time, I even convinced my parents to take a tube ride. Thanks Jon and Mary for letting us use your cabin.

Also while up in Island Park we took a drive up to Sawtelle. (The mountain with the ball on top of it.) It is the first time I had ever been on top of it and there was some breathtaking views.

We had a great 4th of July weekend!

The next weekend Justin took the boys camping with his mom and Jim to Rigby. The boys had a wonderful time getting dirty. Saturday morning we went to Stocktons baptism while Janice watched the boys for us. Justin headed back out to Rigby and the boys shot guns while I attended a good friends baby shower. Unfortunately I have no pictures of the boys camping but I asure you they were dirty from head to toe and had a wonderful time.

July 13th we all went to the airport to say goodbye to my brother Austin. He left for boot camp and will be gone till the end of November. He is going into the National Guard and we are so proud of him. It was super hard to say goodbye and we all left with tears in our eyes. We will miss him, but we are very proud.

We celebrated Randys Birthday on the 21st. Happy Birthday Rand man! We went out to eat at Garcias and then headed to their house for cake and ice cream.

The weekend of the 24th-26 we headed for yet another camping trip, this time to mink creek. It was the Harker family reunion, my moms side of the family, and their was around 244 people that came. It was a lot of fun to see family that I haven't seen in awhile and catch up with cousins. We all had a great time but were absolutely exhausted when we got home.

On the 29th of July we headed down to Utah for the day to visit some friends we had in Michigan. We met up at a kids playplace and had fun catching up while the kids played. Kamden even got to try rollerskating for the first time. He was pretty tipsy but had a good time. It was so nice seeing the Olsens and the Prescotts. We were so glad we were able to see them again!

We had a very busy but very fun July. Next post I will have to do some catching up on August.
