January Update.

Usually the month of January brings us a little slower paced life but this January has been an exception to the rule. Since the Holidays have been over it has been full force baby prep mode. AKA NESTING! We are quickly checking things of our to do list and for one very pregnant gal that makes life simply wonderful!

Fist things first- We bought a new car. One that will comfortably fit us all. I couldn't be any happier with our purchase and as I drive around with my rear end getting warm from the seat warmers and the quite sounds of the kids watching the DVD player I just might have to say.... I am in love!

Next on the to do list- Get babies room ready. Although this wasn't a speedy process, we did finally end up getting the babies room painted and the crib put up. Lets just say that stripes arn't quite as easy to accomplish with only painters tape, or frog tape. Yes the people at the paint store might lie to you and tell you that they will do the trick but without painters caulk THE LINES WILL BLEED! So after many attempts we now have straight, nice clean lines, and this makes mommy very happy! Now all we have to do is get all the baby stuff up out of storage and organized into the room and decorate it.

Last week things slowed down a bit. Both boys ended up getting terrible colds that kept them down for most of the week. It is amazing how much laundry you have to do when you have sick kids at home. They are on the mend and back to themselves for the most part. Now if I could just get their noses to stop running.

This month hasn't been all work and no play. Justin took a Saturday to go ice fishing with a friend. He had a ton of fun and ended up bringing four fish home. That night he fried it up and the very smell of it pretty much made me stay in the bathroom all night. I am not a big fish fan in the first place but even less so being pregnant. I am glad that he was able to go and have a good time. I hear the fish was delicious too (although I am a bit skeptical).

The next Saturday I was able to go out to dinner with my parents and sister. Then we went and watched the movie Old Dogs. It was pretty funny and nice to relax and laugh.

The boys have had a lot of fun playing outside. The cold weather hasn't stopped them one bit. At the first of the month it was soooo cold. One day it never even got above five degrees. BRRRRRR! Thankfully it is warming up a tad bit and has been in the 30s. I really can't wait for summer!!!

My little sister Tessa and her fiance came to visist one weekend and I was able to go out and take some engagement pictures for them. I had a great time and hopfully they will be able to use one of them for their announcements.

I will post some pictures of the babies room once I get everything into place. I am very excited about it!

Happy New Year! 2010

We had a pretty low key New Years Eve. My parents came over and we had dinner and watched the kids movie UP. Way cute movie I might add. Then my parents left and we played a game with my brothers. At 11:15 Justin and I were in bed reading our books. I looked over at him and laughed. You know your getting old when your in bed reading books, waiting for the ball to drop. We did however stay awake till midnight, and we did watch the ball drop. At approximatly 12:10 the lights were out and we were sound asleep. Happy New Year!!!!

New Years day we woke up and met my parents at their house to all caravan down to Salt Lake City. We rented a couple of hotel rooms and had a little Colgrove family vacation. We spent our time eating out, shopping, more eating, even more shopping and hanging out together in our hotel rooms. We all had a great time! Tessa my sister who lives in Provo was able to meet up with us for a couple of days too. it was great to spend time together. The boys loved swimming in the hotel pool. Kamden as always was super timid, but Karson was much more brave. I think that it is funny to see their personalities come out more and more each day. Sunday afternoon we headed back home.

Day after Christmas.

Christmas came and went so fast as it always does. Luckily we still had pleanty to look forward too. The day after Christmas Uncle Jade and Aunt Mae Mae drove over from Boise and that night we all got together and had our own little Christmas. Sunday morning we all left up to Island Park for some fun at the cabin. Justin had the entire week off work so we were able to spend some nice relaxing time at the cabin. Kamden and Karson really enjoyed the snow machining. It was really fun to be able to spend some time as a family.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The day before Christmas Eve Pa and Tu Tu thought that it would be fun to come and get the boys for lunch and take them shopping at the toy store. When I told Kamden and Karson that they were coming to get them they got so excited and waited by the window for them. They went to McDonalds for lunch and then went to Toys R Us. The boys were so happy about their new treasures. They both got new remote control robots, big monster trucks, and each a game. They then went out to Pa and Tu-Tus house to play. They sure did enjoy their adventure. Thanks Pa and Tu Tu.

Of course while the boys were preoccupied with their grandparents Mama had to play too. That afternoon I was able to go to the movies with my sisters and Mom. We went and saw the new Twilight movie New Moon. It was super fun having us gals all hang out.

Christmas Eve day Justin got off work at noon and was able to come home. That evening we headed up to the Voyles residence for a nice Christmas Eve. Janice had prepared a wonderful dinner. We sat around talking and opening gifts. Kamden and Karson were pretty excited about all the presents they had got. It is fun to see them get so excited about everything. They were even super excited about the adorable snowman pj's that grandma had got them. It was a nice evening, and even better company. That night after we had got home and put the boys in bed Justin and I got ready for Christmas morning. We were both giddy with excitement as we set up gifts around the tree, and filled the stockings. It really is a magical time of year.

Christmas.

Christmas morning Justin and I woke up at 5:30 because we were so excited. We decided to let the kids sleep but finally ended up waking them up around 6:30 because we couldn't wait any longer. It was so much fun to spend the morning together. The boys were surprised to see the gifts and so excited that Santa had came to visit. Christmas is so exciting when you have kids to celebrate with. I love watching the joy and wonder in their faces.

Santa left the boys a note. They loved it and the half eaten cookie.

Santa had left both of the boys some gifts by the fireplace. A firehouse for Kamden and a Dragon Castle for Karson. When the boys woke up and saw the gifts they both ran to the opposite one. Kam to the Dragon castle and Kars to the Firehouse. Justin and I looked at each other shrugged our shoulders and moved their stockings to their new exchanged gift. I guess that is the great thing about having two boys so close together. They can share everything. Even gifts form Santa! Of course mom and dad got some wonderful gifts too. Mom got a new pair of Sorel snow boots and dad got a remote control airplane.

Around 8:30 we headed down to my parents house for our family Christmas. All the family was there and it was nice to be all together. We spent the day eating, opening gifts, playing games and just enjoying each others company. I sure am greatful for such a wonderful family.

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner that evening and sat around enjoying each others compnay. The best part about Christmas for me is being able to be together!
