Kam came into my room this afternoon with his bucket in hand. "Ma I have a surprise for you" he said. I got a little nervous of what the surprise might be. Sand and water, grass, dog droppings. Then he tipped the bucket and there it was. A smashed dead praying mantis. Kam was delighted in his new find. This is the conversation that followed.
Me: Oh kam you didn't have to kill the praying mantis. They are nice.
Kam: No ma they are not nice they are bad.
Me: Okay Kam go put it back outside.
Kam starts heading for the door but then instead turns to the kitchen.
Ma: Kam take it outside. ( The thing was pretty gross!)
Kam: No Ma I have to cook it.
Ma: No Kam we don't eat praying mantis.
Kam: Yes we do all we have to do is boil it.
Praying Mantis for dinner anyone?

I am truly impressed, you really did pay attention in whats his name's bioligy class...a praying mantis is a mouthful for the average mom!!! :)
I am with Kamden on this one! Praying Mantises are BAD! I really don't like them at all! They terrify me. I don't know why, except they are big, creepy, all around our house, and the list goes on. So, I, for one, am happy to see one less praying mantis in the world! Way to go, Kam!!
P.S. I LOVE the title of your post! :)
ha ha ha, that is way funny, and your title is so creative! I'm still laughing, Oh what these little boys bring us...usually gross though huh.
