Dog gone it!

When I went to reach for the scissors on the hook at the store flashes of Kam cutting his hair flooded my mind. Right then and their I vowed that I would keep them out of his reach and only let him use them when I could watch him like a hawk. Sounds safe right. I mean after all they are KID scissors and the boy loves doing art. So I bought the scissors.

Last night Justin was gone so I was looking for things to entertain the kids and pass time. I decided to get the scissors out of hiding and sat right next to Kamden as he cut pictures out of an old magazine. I looked away from Kamden for five seconds to help Karson get some candy from his pez dispenser and I suddenly hear a YIPPP! Poor little Ellie was sound asleep on the floor next to us and she got awoken when Kamden decided to take the scissors to her ear. Blood started dripping all over the place. MY CARPET!!! AH GEEZ!! She was bleeding a ton so I was expecting the worst. Luckily when I finally got her to hold still and got the bleeding to stop, I saw it was just a little cut.
Needless to say Kamden got sent to his room for the night, I spent the rest of the night scrubbing the carpet, and the scissors will be up high somewhere in hiding for a very long time!!

How safe are KID scissors that can cut through a dogs ear anyway?

I totally laughed reading this post. Then I felt guilty because I was reading about your poor dog being injured and your CARPET! So, although I shouldn't laugh, I can't help it. You are too funny, Chelsea!

(It is definately easier to laugh when it is not my kid or my dog or my carpet!)

I hope you got it all cleaned and your poor puppy is okay! :)

Wow - those are impressive scissors. They sound like they are sharper than half of the "adult" scissors.

Poor dog! I hope he's okay! At least your life is never dull! It just makes ya wonder what he was trying to accomplish for you dog. He probably just thought he needed a hair cut.

did you know hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of ANYTHING??? I use it all the time on bedding and carpet and clothes because Bella gets bloody noses at least once a week. I always have 2-3 giant bottles on hand. Just a little tip! Poor dog! I hate it when you are trying to be good mom and do something other than TV and it ends this way! Should have watched a movie instead!

Oh my goodness! I wonder what the thought-process was there... BTW, one of my Beehives cut her finger w/safety scissors! Yep, blood gusher! Note to self- don't let Brax use scissors until he's 27.
