This month has been going by way too fast. I wish that time would slow down so I could enjoy the Holiday Season just that much longer. To kick off the month we made a Christmas countdown chain. Kamden loves cutting a link off everynight.

We have been busy with Christmas decorating, parties, visits to see Santa, and candy making. I didn't even try getting a picture of Santa and the boys, they are both deathly afraid of him. Maybe next year. Kamden has really been enjoying school and I just wanted to put this picture of him up. They do such awsome things!

It's the simple things.

This month I love taking the time to reflect upon all the things that I am greatful for. It's the simple things in my life that I have found I am most greatful for. Karson has really started talking a lot more in the last month. I love the way he says Mama, and when asked a question he replies with the cutest Mhhhmmm. I love when his little hand grabs mine and leads me to things he wants to show me. I love Kamdens creative mind. He comes up with the funniest things. The other day he got in trouble and I told him to go to time out. He told me "Ma I don't want to go to time out, time out is not my buddy." I am so thankful for my two boys.

Earlier this month I was able to take a five day trip to seattle to visit my great friends Brandi, Jeff and their four week old baby Faye. It was so much fun and we had such a great time. I got a lot of much needed relaxing in, and had so much fun with their baby. You forget how small they are. I am so greatful for such great friends in my life. I have many great friends that I am so thankful for.

Also this month my sister and her boyfriend got engaged. Yay Congrats Page and Tessa. I am so greatful for my family and so happy that Page will now be a part of it.

Last week my brother Austin who has been away for the past five months with National Guard surprised us all and showed up at our door. It was so great to see him again and have him home. I am so greatful for him and his service to our Country. I am so greatful for all the many men and women who serve for our freedom and the sacrifices that they and their family make.

And last but not least my dear sweet husband showed up this morning with doughnuts for me. He knew exactly what kind I like. I love that he is not only my partner but also my best friend. I am so thankful for him.

I have so much to be thankful for and I am glad to take this month to reflect upon all the simple things in my life that truly make it wonderful!

Halloween tricks and treats!

Halloween Madness 2009! I always love celebrating Halloween. This year the boys had a lot of fun and really got into the Holiday. They were very excited about wearing their costumes and wore them many times. We started off our Halloween celebration Wednesday. Kamden had a Halloween party at school and was able to wear his costume. He was pretty excited about it and had a lot of fun, they even got to make slime.

While Kam was at school I took Karson to a pumkin patch to try to get some good pictures. It was freezing cold and he wasn't very coapertive so these are the only ones I got.

The week before Halloween Justin had to go to Mississippi so he wasn't able this year to share in our Halloween traditions. The boys and I had a great time but we sure missed Justin. One night we had a lot of fun carving a pumkin, the boys thought that it was great fun digging out all the guts. Afterwards we all got cozy in bed and watched, It's the great pumkin Charlie Brown. It was fun to spend the time together.

The next night we made sugar cookies and had fun decorating them together. Another Halloween tradition. Karson I think enjoyed eating more then decorating. Kamden really loved using the cookie cutter and the sprinkles.

Friday we went trick-or-treating to the office and met up with pa, tu tu and Randy. We then went to a local business that puts on an indoor trick-or-treating for the kids. It is fun to see the different parts of the office decorated all different. The kids love it and it really is the perfect way to trick-or-treat. The boys got a ton of candy. They were all smiles when we left. Saturday, Halloween day, we picked up Justin from the airport. We were very happy to have him home for the big day. That night we all dressed up and went to our ward trunk-or-treat and dinner. Justin was helping out with the spook alley, and got way into it. I hear that it was the best spook alley ever. He took the little boys through it and Karson about had a panic attack and Kamden came out telling me all night "Ma that Gorilla scared me and made me mad!". It was another great Halloween!

Time for a redo.

Since Karson has moved out of his crib and into his big boy bed there has been many sleepless nights in the Johnson home. And seeing as though no one was sleeping anyways, I decided to add to the chaos and move the boys into the same room. This last weekend we decided to redo their room and make it a fun place for them. We spent the weekend painting and getting lots of help from two little boys. After many coats of paint and a lot of "help" we finally finished the room. The boys love their new room and enjoy hanging out in their special spot in our house. Now if I can just find a way to get them to stay asleep in the middle of the night!

Snow and Goblins.

There are many things in life that come at us, although they might be expected, we are unprepared non the less. Two things have came at me this past week that I am just not ready for.

First things first: Wednesday was the first day of snow. Yes yes I do know that I live in Idaho and yes I also know that time of year is coming. But snow in September already. So when I saw the snow coming down, I thought to myself "it's okay it will be gone in no time". The snow melted and it was gone, but then it came again, and again, and is snowing outside right now. It is a whopping 39 degrees outside as I sit here typing. Where did fall go? I am just not ready for snow, or this freezing cold weather. I went to get the boys boots out because of course they wanted to play in it, only to find that they don't fit. Guess this week I better go boot shopping!

Second on the list: October first rolls around and I find that I have a goblin in my home. A goblin that can now climb out of his crib. Although I knew that I couldn't keep him in his crib forever I was just not ready for this. He wont go to sleep at night and in the middle of the night is costantly trying to get in our bed. Good bye sleep! Last night we set up his toddler bed for him, he wasn't enthused and getting him to sleep was a nightmare. Once we did get him to bed he at least slept in it till 5:00am but then was in our bed moving around the rest of the morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that with time and patience it will get better and I will get some sleep again. Good thing he is so cute, and easy to forgive! :)

This last weekend we spent some time in Island Park. It was a great time as always. Saturday was a beautiful fall day. (Okay so we did have at least one nice fall day.) Justin got brave and took the boys on a canoe ride. They loved it. I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and went for a walk. The next day we woke to snow on the ground and a blizzard outside. Crazy how quickly things can change. I guess that is the moral of the story, you just got to Row with the punches. No matter what life throws you!

Boot Camp Graduation.

Last Tuesday we (my mom, dad, and myself) picked up our rental van and headed out on our 22 hr drive to Oklahoma. We stopped in Utah and picked up my little sister and then headed on. We drove through the night and most of the next day and finally made it 24 hours later to Lawton OK. What a long drive it was. Thursday we were able to spend the day with Austin and he showed us around the Fort Sill base. It was fun to see how he has been living for the last 10 weeks at boot camp. We were able to eat at the chow hall, not so appetizing I gotta say, but fun to experience. The next day we went to Austin's Graduation. I was so proud of my brother for the wonderful things he had accomplished. The next few days we were able to take Austin off the base and spend some time with him. It was so good to see him again and be with him. We had to drop him off on Sunday afternoon and we began our long journey home. This time we stopped in a hotel to sleep then awoke to have another 12 hour day of driving. It was a nice trip and I was so glad to see Austin. He looked great. Thank you to Justin for all his help with the boys along with my sister Audra and my mother in law. Without them I couldn't have possibly left. Thanks!

Spud day madness.

Yup its that time of year again. The day that we celbrate the potatoe! It is such a fun day for our community and I am so glad that I get to be a part of it. Our day kicked off with the annual spud day parade. Karson and Porter waiting for the parade to start.

Kamden with his hand on his heart! How sweet!

Karson waiting for some more candy to be thrown his way.

The fire truck sirens were a little loud for Kamden.

Karson and Aunt Tessa.

After the parade we headed over to get a free spud. They are the best baked potatoes ever. I am not sure what makes them so good but there has never been a better spud than the ones at spud day. The rest of the time we enjoyed walking around looking at all the booths, chatting with friends, and enjoying the sun. It was a beautiful day!
